A resident of the complex called police at 1:27 a.m.to say someone was crawling on his stomach through the corridors. She was found Thursday in a Park City hotel with knife wounds to her throat.

After asserting his family had been attacked, Anthony McClanahan did not give the sergeant his wife's name or location, "even when asked multiple times", the documents say. A paracord bracelet knife, believed to be KC McClanahan's, was found on the floor near her hands, police say.

This undated photo shows Keri "KC" McClanahan, 28. The officer on the scene told prosecutors that McClanahan picked himself up just enough to signal the officer before falling back to the ground, where he started convulsing.

His wife's body was found in the apartment he had rented after someone else at the building called 911, saying he was crawling low to the ground through the hallways and calling for help.

Gauf told media outlets there had been a history of domestic violence in the relationship.

Anthony McClanahan ended up in Utah because he has family there and wanted his son to be an extra in a Disney TV production, Gauf said.

McClanahan was previously charged with child kidnapping after authorities said he took his son from school in Arizona and drove him through Nevada and Utah last month.

He was arrested in Utah on October 12 and gave his son back, then bonded out of jail a week later.

Prosecutors said in a news release Friday that Anthony D. McClanahan has been arrested but not yet charged in the death of Keri "KC" McClanahan.

The couple had met a year ago when he was working as a personal trainer in her hometown of Bellingham, Washington, and he pushed for a fast wedding, Gauf said.

After the January 2017 wedding, they moved to Arizona together and began traveling to volunteer in hurricane-affected areas.

But his jealousy began to emerge and in September he got frustrated about a missed donation and punched her, Gauf said. While he had prospects to play with the Dallas Cowboys, he was cut from the team prior to the 1994 regular season and never played a game in the NFL. He'd sometimes refer to the effects of head injuries he'd suffered during his football career, though Gauf doubts they were the root cause of the violence.

"She's such a sweetheart", Gauf said.

Keri McClanahan eventually met him in Utah to help with his son, and stayed to help him get back on his feet after his arrest, Gauf said.

Anthony McClanahan, who was signed and then cut by the Dallas Cowboys in the 1990s but for whom there's no record of ever playing in an National Football League game, remained Monday in the Salt Lake County jail, where he has been held without bail pending trial in an unrelated child kidnapping case. "He definitely dimmed her light so much, and it was really hard to watch". No attorney was listed for McClanahan in court records Monday, and a phone number for him went unanswered.
