THE TALK announced live today that GRAMMY Award victor and Philadelphia native, Eve Jeffers Cooper, has joined as a new host of the Daytime Emmy Award-winning talk show. Eve joins Julie Chen, Sharon Osbourne, Sara Gilbert, and Sheryl Underwood at the co-hosts table. Eve also acted in the "Barbershop" feature film franchise as well as starring in her own self-titled sitcom for the defunct UPN in 2003-06.
"The women were thrilled when they heard Eve would be joining the show and can't wait to start talking and engaging her in the conversation", CBS exec Angelica McDaniel, who oversees daytime programming at the network, tells Variety.
Eve is most-known for her efforts with music and acting, and has sung songs "What Ya Want", "Gangsta Lovin", and "Let Me Blow Ya Mind".
"I'm hoping I gain a new audience." she adds. "I am interested in hosting, and specifically on this show, because I feel as though I can express myself in a way people haven't seen me before, and be able to engage in great discussions [and] have some fun", Eve told Variety. "I'm just in a place in my life where I was looking for a platform to express myself". This opportunity came and it's something new, something exciting. She says, "I am a pretty open book". She also does a voice on the FX comedy "Archer". I started recording a few months ago.
Tyler, who has already guest co-hosted this season, is expected join the ladies at the table and fill in as a co-host from time-to-time when scheduling permits.
