A NY woman was accused Monday of intentionally drowning her infant son in a bathtub in her Rochester apartment.
Police say a Rochester mother is now facing a murder charge after they say she admitted to drowning her 10-day-old child in a bathtub.
Officers arrived on scene at 31 Locust St. around 2:30 p.m. Monday for the report of an unresponsive baby.
"The defendant by these actions intentionally caused the death of her infant son", the complaint read.
Officials say the child, named Jeremiah, was taken to Rochester General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Mitchell was taken into custody and questioned by investigators at the Public Safety Building, roughly two miles away from her Rochester residence. The 25-year-old is also the mother of another child.
Mitchell will be arraigned on the charge of murder in the second degree in Rochester City Court Tuesday morning and additional charges may be considered by the grand jury.
