"The Russian Defense Ministry is investigating its civil service employee who erroneously attached wrong photo illustrations to its statement on interaction between the US-led global coalition and Islamic State militants near Abu Kamal, Syria", the ministry said.
The Russian military said that the US-led alliance had refused to carry out airstrikes against Daesh (ISIS) terrorists who were retreating from the Syrian town of Abu Kamal.
In violation of a previously reached agreement, attack aircraft of the coalition entered the airspace over Abu Kamal to hamper the work of the Russian air force, the ministry said in a statement.
"I would say the Russian Ministry of Defense statements are about as accurate as their air campaign".
The Russian Defense Ministry also provided authentic photos of an IS militant convoy heading for the Syrian-Iraqi border.
Russian Federation faced online ridicule on Tuesday for publishing footage from a computer game as undeniable proof that the USA was providing air support for Islamic State militants in the Middle East.
He added that Russian forces suffered another blow when the Syrian regime claimed that its forces had liberated Al Bukamal when in reality government troops have not yet regained control of the city.
"The Syrian troops" rapid offensive in Abu Kamal has derailed the U.S. plans to set up "pro-American' authorities to govern the territories on the eastern bank of the Euphrates uncontrolled by the Syrian government", the ministry said.
The now-deleted Twitter post, which was published today by the Russian Ministry of Defence account in Russian, English and Arabic, said that the images showed "irrefutable evidence that #US are actually covering ISIS combat units to recover their combat capabilities, redeploy, and use them to promote American interests in Middle East".
