Speaking to two independent sources, Kotaku UK has learned that Capcom now has plans for three Ace Attorney games for Switch. They claim that the two compilations will be launching at some point between April 2018 and October 2018.
This specific configuration makes a lot of sense, because Capcom has previously re-released the games on iOS - which already has 1-3 and 4-6, in separate apps, updated for HD on a single screen touch screen device - and 3DS, the first three being bundled as Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy. And the second is said to be a compilation of Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies, and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Spirit of Justice.
The third title is reportedly a new mainline entry in the Ace Attorney series planned for a worldwide simultaneous release on Switch and smartphones in late 2018.
Last week, we reported on the news that Capcom was working on a new Ace Attorney game for the Nintendo Switch, expanding its support for Nintendo's system and bringing its experienced legal team to a whole new level. The game will reportedly have five cases at launch, and feature Phoenix Wright in the main role.
Exciting times! I'll let you know when we hear any more details, until then: court is adjourned.
