ADELE is poised to become Las Vegas's highest-paid resident after it emerged one of the strip's finest hotels is preparing to offer her $US500,000 ($640,000) a show.
"The days of entertainers coming to retire at Vegas are a thing of the past", an insider from the hotel told the publication. "In the last few years, we have seen massive stars performing on the strip and every major hotel wants to say they have the biggest star as their resident". Caesars Palace had Mariah Carey, Planet Hollywood has Britney Spears, and we want Adele. Even at half a million bucks a show we are confident we would make a healthy return'. Earlier this summer, the singer pulled out of two of her Wembley dates due to the issue; in 2011, she suffered a vocal haemorrhage which eventually resulted in the need to undergo vocal surgery.
The source added: 'Adele is a professional, and knows her own ability. "And we are happy to be flexible in negotiations if it's needed in order to bring her on board". 'In fact, we have seen a huge increase in requests for her figure since Skyfall was released and the timing seems ideal to honour her after such phenomenal success with the song, ' she added.
Now the highest paid Vegas resident is Celine Dion, earning an estimated $476,000 per show, in her second residency for Caesar's Palace after first debuting at the venue in 2011.
The singer could earn $34 million if she takes up a residency.
Mariah Carey announced her residency at Caesars Palace in 2015. The Vegas casinos offer big bucks for huge talent, especially huge names like Jennifer Lopez and Britney Spears.
In 2013, pop icon Britney kicked off her four-year Piece of Me residency at Planet Hollywood, which saw her pocket $US375,000 ($479,000) per show.
