Cougar Defenceman Named To Team WHL

Spokane Chiefs forward Jaret Anderson-Dolan has been named to Team WHL for the upcoming 2017 CIBC Canada-Russia Series. Moose Jaw coach Tim Hunter will coach Team WHL, with Regina coach John Paddock and Swift Current coach Manny Viveiros the assistants. The WHL will host Games 1 and 2 of the six-game series while the Ontario Hockey League will host Games 3 and 4 before the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League rounds out the series with Games 5 and 6. He was drafted by the Edmonton Oilers in the third round (78th overall) in the 2017 National Hockey League Entry Draft.

Glass, selected by the Golden Knights with the No. 6 pick, is one of three players chosen in the first round of the 2017 NHL Draft named to the team.

The games are part of the process of picking the teams for Canada and Russian Federation for the 2018 IIHF World Junior Championship, which will be played December 26 to January 5 in Buffalo. Last season, Estephan was the first Hurricane to be represented in the Series since 2010 when Carter Ashton was selected.

Two Medicine Hat Tigers have been selected to represent Canada on the global stage.
