The United charter plane landed at Los Angeles International Airport at 12:09 p.m. PT (3:09 p.m. ET) after a five-hour stop in Albuquerque, N.M. when a person on board became ill.
Albuquerque International Sunport spokesman Daniel Jiron said the plane landed in Albuquerque around 5:30 a.m. Friday and a passenger was taken to the hospital.
The patient exited the plane to receive treatment, but the rest of the team remained aboard, CBS Chicago reports.
Chicago also had to wait for the plane to switch pilots in Albuquerque after the previous pilot ran out of flight time.
The Chicago Cubs' road to Los Angeles to face the Dodgers in the National League Championship Series has not been without drama. The team eventually left around 10:30 a.m.
The Cubs are set to take on the Dodgers at Dodger Stadium for Game 1 of the NLCS Saturday night.
