He said Dar told police that his four associates are hiding in a hideout in Pastuna forest of Tral.
"A Chinese pistol, a magazine and some rounds were recovered from the possession of the arrested militant", a police officer said.
He said Gulzar was involved in attack on Akhtar at bus stand Tral on September 21 in which 3 civilians were killed and 30 persons including seven CRPF men and two police personnel injured.
The minister had escaped unhurt in the attack.
"During sustained questioning, Gulzar admitted that he hurled the grenade on minister's convoy on the instructions of JeM commanders - Mufti Vikas, a resident of Pakistan administered Kashmir (PaK) and Noor Mohammad Tantray R/o Tral", the police spokesman said. During searches, terrorists fired upon the search party.
"During the search operation, Jaish militant Gulzar Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Nabi R/o Nagbal Tral was arrested".
The troops pressed choppers into service to assist the troops on ground in nabbing the militants.
