Several viewers called or messaged, wanting to know who won the episode, namely, the beloved contestant Austin Rogers.
Thursday night's episode of Jeopardy was bumped because of Thursday Night Football on WKYT.
Austin Rogers, a bartender from NY, came in a close second place on the fan-favorite game show after a 12-day run as champion. "He was fun to be with and slightly irreverent", "Jeopardy!" host Alex Trebek said in a news release.
Rogers finished his run in fifth place on the all-time regular-season (non-tournament) winnings list; his $411,000 total puts him behind only Ken Jennings, David Madden, Julia Collin and Matt Jackson.
The quirky bartender said in a statement that he did better on the show than he exected and isn't quite sure yet how he's going to spend all that cash.
"I set myself a goal of two wins, and I exceeded that expectation", Rogers said after his defeat. "Once the money's in hand, it would be really nice to just on a whim decide to go to an Arsenal match. Or, like, Estonia. I've also wondered if a Steinway piano is a good investment", he says.
But fans don't have to wait too long to see the contestant. Rogers will return for the upcoming "Jeopardy!" tournament of champions, a two-week event that starts November 6.
