Accused hit and run driver Sebastian Kennett is still on the run after a smash which left a cardiac nurse dead in Melbourne.
Major Collision Investigation Unit (MCIU) detectives have charged a 20-year-old man following a fatal collision in Oakleigh earlier this week, Victoria Police say.
Ms Hansen, 53, initially survived the crash but died despite the best efforts of residents who came to her aid.
Police said Sebastian Kennett was arrested at an address in Blackburn South, in Melbourne's east, on Thursday evening.
The family of Lynda Hansen have remembered her as a "compassionate and caring" person who loved to help people, including her elderly mother.
The man has been charged with culpable driving, risky driving causing death, failure to stop after a collision with a fatality, failure to render assistance after a fatal collision, theft of a motor vehicle and driving while disqualified.
