The UFC has added another very compelling bout to its December schedule, as the company's announced that Robbie Lawler and Rafael dos Anjos are going to throw hands on December 16th. Standing in his way is another former world champion looking to cement his own place at the top of the division. In the other, we'll have former lightweight champ Rafael dos Anjos.
The next FOX special will air on December 16th from the MTS Centre in Winnipeg.
Lawler, who is now ranked as the number one contender for the title, has a 28-11 record with one no contest.
A meeting of ex-champs is now the headliner for UFC on FOX 26.
The 35-year-old defended his title twice before losing to Woodley in Fight of the Year candidates against Rory MacDonald and Carlos Condit. After being knocked out by Tyron Woodley at UFC 201 in July 2016, he spent a year away from the cage before returning at UFC 214 this past July.
Opposing him is longtime vet dos Anjos, who this past month picked up his second straight win since moving from lightweight to welterweight.

Dos Anjos promised to make his fight with Woodley (18-3-1 MMA, 8-2-1 UFC) an entertaining one by pushing the action. This news was announced by the UFC on Thursday morning.
Since then, having moved up to welterweight, he's 2-0 with wins over former Strikeforce champ Tarec Saffiedine and Neil Magny.
Other bouts planned for the night include Glover Teixeira vs. Misha Cirkunov, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira vs. Jared Cannonier and Tim Elliott vs. Justin Scoggins.
