Joining the cast in key roles for Season 4 are Maria Doyle Kennedy (The Tudors, Orphan Black) and Ed Speleers (Downton Abbey, Alice Through the Looking Glass) in the roles of Jamie's (Sam Heughan) strong-willed (and blind) Aunt Jocasta, and Irish pirate/smuggler Stephen Bonnet, respectively.
Production on the fourth season, which will be based on Drums of Autumn, the fourth book in Diana Gabaldon's best-selling Outlander series, began this week in Scotland. Jamie and Claire wind up at Jocasta's plantation in North Carolina.
The third season of the Golden Globe-nominated series is now airing on Starz, with the highly anticipated Print Shop reunion episode titled "A. Malcolm" slated to air on October 22, while next Sunday will feature a marathon viewing of the first five episodes of the season. The supersized episode will be the first time fans get to see Claire and Jamie together again, after being separated for 20 years. Kennedy writes and performs with husband Kieran Kennedy and along with a new album, they have also completed their first short film A Different Kind of Day, written and directed by Maria, produced and scored by Kieran.
