"I feel a lot better", Mariota said.
There is no official word on whether or not Mariota will play Monday when the Titans host the Colts (7:30 p.m., ESPN).
Mariota - pick two in the 2015 draft - suffered a hamstring injury in the Titans' 57-14 loss to the Houston Texans in week four, missing Tennessee's 16-10 defeat to the Miami Dolphins the following week.
"I was able to participate in a good amount of practice", Mariota said.
Coach Mike Mularkey says he's hoping Mariota can play and that the quarterback doing more Wednesday than he did last week was a good sign. "He's got to be able to move around pretty good to be able to play, and not put himself in a position where he is going to re-injure himself". Unfortunately, it seems like Mariota will be a game-time decision with Matt Cassel starting if he sits. He has completed 61.4 percent of his passes with 48 touchdowns and 22 interceptions. "The atmosphere is going to be great".
This matchup has lost a bit of luster since it was originally scheduled in the preseason as the star quarterbacks may be holding clipboards, but the incredibly high stakes remain as the loser of this game takes a huge step back in the AFC South race. "Hopefully towards the end of the week I'll get more on my plate and hopefully I'll feel comfortable to try and play on Monday".
