Atletico Madrid's new Metropolitano Stadium has been chosen to host the 2019 UEFA Champions League final. Atletico Madrid now play in the "Metropolitan Wanda" stadium after they agreed a deal with global company Wanda Group.
UEFA also revealed the 2019 Europa League final will be played in Baku's Olympic Stadium, after Azerbaijan missed out to Atletico's new home in the Champions League selection process.
Madrid's 67,500 seater stadium had already drawn plaudits after the club released an impressive time lapse video of the venue.
The 68,000-capacity venue, officially opened last week, was selected for European football's showpiece final on June 1 2019 at Wednesday's UEFA executive committee meeting in Nyon.
This season's tournament will culminate with the final in Kiev.
It will be eighth time that the Champions League final (or that of the European Cup) has been celebrated in Spain after Real Madrid's Santiago Bernabeu Stadium hosted the 2010 final between Inter Milan and Bayern Munich.
Meanwhile, that year's Super Cup will be hosted in Besiktas's stadium.
