A fair worker was injured while attempting to fix a malfunctioning ride at the Central Carolina Fair, according to Greensboro police.
On Friday evening, the Ferris Wheel ride had to be temporarily shut down after one of the ride's gondola cars began to tilt out of its normal position.
The Central Carolina Fair in Greensboro said in a statement Saturday that the worker was taken to a hospital.
The fair worker climbed up the ride and tried to dislodge the vehicle that was stuck.
However, the worker lost his balance and fell to the ground.
The injured worker was transported by Guildford County EMS to a local hospital for treatment. He has since been released.
The ride has been re-inspected and will be back in use tomorrow.
