Antonio Conte believes his work with N'Golo Kante over the a year ago has helped develop the player into the complete midfielder and the Chelsea manager expects Tiemoue Bakayoko to undergo a similar transformation over the coming months.
"Baka is a good player and a good signing for us". "He's working very hard to improve this weakness".
"We did the same with N'Golo when he arrived here". We are working on this aspect. "Now you can see a complete player - with the ball and without the ball", continued Conte.
"We want to work in the same way with Baka".
How successful he has been so far will depend very much on how quiet Kante and Bakayoko can keep Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez this afternoon.
The long-term future of the unsettled star looked distinctly uncomfortable after fans booed him when he came on against Bournemouth last week. But the brilliant goal Sanchez scored in the Europa League win over Cologne last Thursday has seemingly changed all that.
As Arsene Wenger says: "We love Alexis".
'I'm very happy because he's improving a lot. You can feel him during the game.
The Gunners boss admits that Sanchez's skills and spirit will be crucial - and not just today. "It is not just about one - it's about the team performance".
"I am expecting it - and I am anticipating it". If you remember he was very, very good without the ball, to win the ball, to recover the ball. This team has character.
Conte claims Kante has made significant strides under his direction ago and points to the progress made by the former Leicester City player as evidence of what Bakayoko can achieve.
