Afghan officials say bombings kill 6 civilians

At least two people, both civilians were killed and two others injured after a blast hit Alinegar district in Afghanistan's eastern Laghman province on Sunday, spokesman for provincial government Sarhadi Zawak said. The blast is said to have taken place at a market.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, but the volatile province bordering Pakistan has been contested by the Taliban.

As the holy Muslim month of Ramadan began on May 27, a Taliban vehicle bomber targeted an Afghan militia group in Khost, leaving 13 people dead.

On September 11, a suicide bomber struck a convoy of foreign troops in Bagram in Afghanistan.

Several terrorist related activities and explosions have been reported in the provincial capital and other parts of the province since the start of the year.
