Former Trump Adviser Flynn's Son Being Probed Over Russia

Dems Flynn did not disclose Middle East trip

Flynn refusing new request to speak to Hill committee

Company representatives had already confirmed Flynn's participation in the deal in previous letters to the committee members. Elijah Cummings (D-Maryland) and Eliot Engel (D-New York) requested additional information about the undisclosed Middle East trip first reported by Newsweek in June.

The letter sent Tuesday by Reps.

NBC News' report notes that "Michael G. Flynn accompanied his father, for instance, on a trip to Moscow in December 2015 for the elder Flynn to deliver a paid speech at a gala for the state-sponsored Russian television network RT".

On Wednesday, a professional editor who performed contract work for Flynn's now-defunct consulting firm said that he was questioned Tuesday by Federal Bureau of Investigation agents.

Michael Flynn Jr has been caught in the cross hairs of the ever-expanding Russian Federation probe, NBC is reporting.

Cummings and Engel have sent their letter as part of an inquiry into the renewal of Flynn's 2016 Top Secret security clearance.

"I joined General Flynn in Israel", Cochran said in his statement.

But the Russian entity meant to provide security for the project is under USA sanctions.

Before entering his White House post, Flynn advised US companies on the project. Four current and former government officials claim he was involved.

The managing director of ACU, Alex Copson, told the Democrats that his company covered Flynn's travel expenses. His White House disclosure forms indicate that he stepped aside in January when Trump took office. Flynn submitted his first financial disclosure on February 11, and updated it on March 31, several weeks after he was sacked. As part of the deal, these countries would also buy military hardware from Russian Federation, according to the companies' letters provided to Democrats.

The probe into Russian involvement in the election has grown a great deal since its inception in May. The Treasury Department sanctioned the Russian state-run company in September 2015 for violating USA laws prohibiting weapons sales to Iran, Syria and North Korea.

They asked Flynn's lawyer and executives of companies involved in the project to provide "all communications" they had with Flynn or other administration officials during the 2016 campaign, the post-election transition or Flynn's tenure as national security adviser.

Flynn is under suspicion of continuing to promote this plan while working for the White House. One of those payments came from RT, the Kremlin-controlled TV network that USA intelligence says pushed propaganda and was involved in Russia's interference in the 2016 election. But there was no additional comment in the material released by Engel and Cummings. In that letter, they noted that Flynn did disclose a trip to Saudi Arabia that he took in October 2015, but they said he withheld key details and misled the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The changes come in response to its recent admission to authorities investigating Russia's influence on the 2016 election that they sold thousands of ads likely linked to Russian Federation, many of which were connected to "inauthentic" accounts and Pages. But a Gowdy aide said that the chairman wants his panel to steer clear of questions about violations of security clearances, saying that's a question for Mueller to explore. No Republicans from the two committees signed on to the letter.

Flynn has been turning over documents, mostly related to two of his businesses, to the Senate and House intelligence committees in response to subpoenas, but he has declined to speak with congressional committees without a guarantee of immunity.

According to Cotter - now with the law firm Greensfelder, Hemker and Gale - if prosecutors gain enough evidence on Flynn to charge him with a crime, they could reduce those charges or the penalty sought in exchange for information about other subjects of the probe.

This means Mueller's investigation now has multiple Trump family members in its crosshairs (Kushner and Don Jr.) as well as a top Trump adviser and his son.
