Jose Mourinho refuses to put too much emphasis on his Man United side dropping points at Stoke.

"If you tell me Manchester United, I hope and expect my club to be strong enough and powerful enough for when the market closes for us, we can also close our doors and say it doesn't matter, we close our doors for buying and selling".

The United manager insisted afterwards only his team had tried to win the game - Hughes disagreed - while ruing the absence of Marouane Fellaini, who was ruled out with a calf injury.

He added: "I know after national teams there are no miracles, only fatigue, loss of concentration, so I am not disappointed, it's just a natural outcome, four matches, 10 points, top of the league, we are OK". Stoke are a good team, so it was hard, but we managed to get a point. We had the lead in the second half but they scored a goal from the corner kick.

"Mistakes are part of the game, Phil has been playing well for us, so no problem".

"It's always important to be at the top of the table if you can".

While left frustrated by the stalemate, Matic was eager to take positives from the contest.

Romelu Lukaku, Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial have all been amongst the goals, while Henrikh Mkhitaryan has five assists to his name.

"I'm not sure why he didn't want to shake my hand, I didn't think there were any issues".

United's next domestic outing will see them welcome record goalscorer Wayne Rooney back to Old Trafford with Everton, but before that they will open their Champions League campaign with a home date against Basel on Tuesday.
