An investigation is underway following a weekend robbery and shooting near the University of Minnesota campus in Minneapolis.
The victim, a 19-year-old U student from Crystal Lake, Ill., told police the men robbed him of his cellphone and cash, fired one shot at him and then fled in a dark-colored sedan. The suspects stole the student's cellphone and cash before running to a nearby vehicle. As the suspects ran toward an awaiting vehicle, one of them fired a shot toward the student, who was not hit and was uninjured. The student was unharmed.
One of the suspects was described as standing about 5-feet, 9-inches tall, with a light build, black hair, and wearing a black and white two-tone hoodie. The vehicle they fled in was a dark-colored Buick sedan, which was parked on 5th Street, just east of the 11th Avenue intersection. He was armed with a silver handgun.
The second suspect is described as a black male, early 20s, about 5-feet-8 weighing 140-150 pounds with a slim build.
