Kershaw has been on the disabled list with a lower back strain.

After completing four innings of a simulated game on Monday, Clayton Kershaw will make a minor league start this weekend in preparation for him to be back with the Dodgers soon.

Kershaw - a three-time National League (NL) Cy Young Award victor and Triple Crown recipient - was an incredible 15-2 with a 2.04 ERA this season before his injury.

After the outing, Kershaw told SportsNetLA that he could pitch in a major league game tomorrow, but that the team knows the next step. "You continue to ramp up as far as intensity, and crossing that marker makes everyone feel better".

The Dodgers then added Yu Darvish before the July 31 trade deadline, but he too is sidelined with an injury. He said he's healthy and ready. "But that's not the plan, obviously", Kershaw said.

The team made its decision later on Monday, saying Kershaw is slated to pitch for Triple-A Oklahoma City against the Omaha Storm Chasers on Saturday.
