Chris Wallace was not the only anchor to dunk on Trump's lawyer this weekend, as Jake Tapper questioned Sekulow about Trump's tweet. So I appreciate you trying to rephrase it, but I'm just being really direct with you, Chris.
"If in fact it's correct that the president is being investigated, he's being investigated for taking an action that an agency told him to take".
Wallce: Sir, you just said two times that he's being investigated. We have not received, nor are we aware of any investigation of the president of the united States.
In case you missed that, here is what Donald Trump's lawyer said (emphasis mine).
When Wallace pointed out that Sekulow had just contradicted himself by acknowledging Trump was under investigation, the president's attorney accused the host of "putting words in my mouth, when I've been crystal clear that the president is not and has not been undeyinvestigation".
And not unlike others who advise Trump on personal matters, Sekulow regularly appears on Fox News, as well as hosts a syndicated daily radio talk show.
"Now you're reading minds again", Wallace said. I didn't say investigation...
Sekulow appeared on several political talk shows on Sunday to argue that contrary to the president's tweet, the Trump team did not know if the president was under investigation by Mueller. "I don't think you should be rushing the stage, period, whether you agree or not".
