Peppa Pig continues to globetrot with new global L&M partners and a fresh pipeline of content. Entertainment One (eOne) has inked new licensing agreements for its billion-dollar preschool property while also announcing the production of 117 new episodes.
Production has already begun on the new series, which will bring the total number of shows to 381.
Entertainment One has the majority stake in Peppa Pig and has helped make it become a global brand.
Animation studio Astley Baker Davies will produce the new series, which is scheduled to launch in spring 2019 and will secure "a pipeline of Peppa Pig content over the following four years", the company said in a statement.
The media company said it had 40 licensing partners across the world promoting Peppa Pig toys, games and confectionary. Entertainment One also announced a new licensing deal for Peppa toy merchandise with DTC in Brazil.
It said licensing in Russian Federation had "accelerated at a significant pace" and Peppa Pig merchandise had entered new markets across the Nordic region.
In China, Peppa Pig generated more than 24.5 billion views on multiple SVOD platforms since the brand was first launched two years ago, providing "strong" consumer traction for the licensing and merchandising programme roll out of the brand this year, the board explained.
"With a new series in the pipeline, best-in-class partners and strong marketing and experiential initiatives in each territory, we continue to nurture the long-term success of this global pre-school phenomenon".
