Owlboy, YIIK, Nine Parchments Revealed For Switch

Nintendo unveils first official Switch bundle with Splatoon 2

'ARMS' is bringing the fighting game genre to Switch in a bizarre way and we're here for it

So far we've had sequels, or ports of existing games such as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe being released, or small indie titles.

To know the whole Nintendo Direct video, you can watch the video at ARMS direct. Independent developers are really shining on the Switch already, with games like Shovel Knight and Tumbleseed proving that portability makes their experiences that much more captivating.

Nintendo's launch trailer and all promotional materials have shown how Arms makes use of motion controls on the Joy-Con controller, but you don't actually need the Joy-Cons to play this game.

Nintendo also mentioned that they will support ARMS in the future.

The Direct revealed the rest of the 10 character roster.

In addition to different fighters, players will be able to customize both their left and right ARMS.

If your arm is the same weight as an opponent's, you can block each other's punches mid-swing. Mini-games include playing explosive volleyball, hitting targets, and playing basketball where you try to grab and dunk each other.

If you're interested in testing the game out before launch, Nintendo is doing two global "testpunch" weekends in North America. Arms demo is a 1.4GB download and you can get it via the Nintendo eShop. The basic Fight mode lets you fight against one player, with bombs or healing items dropping on the arena. It's had a prominent role in two consecutive Nintendo Directs, the second of which was dedicated nearly entirely to the game, and it revealed details that demonstrate a willingness to ensure that - from day one - there'll be a solid variety of modes and content to play. The new video revealed its single player gameplay, which will be called the "Hero Mode", and it will be as colorful and imaginative for players to try out, Dual Shockers reported. But even if you don't get a new type of arm, the duplicate arm you get will be stronger than the original. Ranked matches will be available as well as an offline Grand Prix that resembles a single player campaign of 10 matches.
