During a recent interview, Panos Panay, Microsoft's executive in the company's Surface division, confirmed that the Surface Pro 5 does not exist at the current moment. With the addition of Kaby Lake processors, it seems likely that Microsoft will have different configurations options available of the new Surface Pro.
The images in the leak paint a complete picture of the Surface Pro as a whole, showing off its front, back, side, Surface Pen, and Surface Mouse. Well, that might be true, but another Surface Pro tablet is still going to be revealed early next week at Microsoft's event held in China.
The leaked images suggest that Microsoft is bringing the its Alcantara fabric-covered keyboard to the Surface Pro range.
The new Surface Pro looks very identical to the Pro 4. He added that Microsoft will launch the said upgraded device when it has achieved a meaningful change in hardware innovation to make it a new product. According to VentureBeat, the tech behemoth is actually planning to launch a refresh of the Surface Pro 4 simply called the Surface Pro.
This falls in line with the company's ideology that upcoming Surface hardware products should be backward compatible with power connectors, along with accessories such as docking stations, and Type Covers. The general belief was that it would unveil the Surface Pro 5 at the occasion, given that it's been 2 years since the last one came out. But if you were hoping for the Surface Pro 5, you might be disappointed.
