The movie, "The 15:17 to Paris", will be based on the book of the same name penned by Anthony Sadler, Alek Skarlatos, and Spencer Stone, who averted a mass tragedy by overpowering a man armed with an AK-47 on a train from Brussels to Paris.

Spencer Stone and his two childhood friends were on a train in France, when they heard a man loading a gun in the bathroom.

Deadline report Eastwood will begin casting now to start production later this year. Eastwood will produce with Tim Moore, Kristina Rivera and Jessica Meier.

Now, the heroism of Skarlatos, a native of Roseburg, Stone, and Sadler is being turned into a movie.

The 15:17 to Paris is set to chart the trajectory of three US citizens - Anthony Sadler, Alek Skarlatos, and Spencer Stone - who, along with two Frenchmen (Mark Moogalian and a man identified only as "Damien A."), subdued a heavily armed Isis operative planning to carry out a deadly attack on Thalys train 9364.

Ayoub El-Khazzani boarded train #9364 in Brussels on August 21, 2015, armed with an AK-47, a pistol, a box-cutter and a large cache of ammunition.

The story was heavily covered on cable news, where the friends, one of which was in the Oregon National Guard and the other in the U.S. Air Force, were lauded for their bravery.

His last film Sully told the story of pilot Chesley Sullenberger, who landed his damaged plane on the Hudson River. They most certainly averted a mass tragedy.
