The Hennepin County Attorney's Office had received an extension to 4 p.m. on Friday to either file charges against the 42-year-old suspect from New Hope, or release him from jail.
Dixon Police say a student brought a gun to school on Wednesday.
ICE officials said Saturday that they had placed a "detainer" on the suspect following his arrest.
The suspect was released from Hennepin County Jail Friday afternoon, and ICE officers took him into custody.
At a Friday press conference, Brooklyn Park Deputy Chief Mark Bruley said both Manito and the student were cooperating with investigators.
Dixon Police now have School Resource Officers assigned to Dixon High School and Reagan Middle School, and Chief Langloss said in a statement that helped them resolve the potentially unsafe situation.
The question remains whether or not Manito committed a crime, as the student is an adult. Police will investigate the case next week, Bruley said.
Brooklyn Park Police Chief Craig Enevoldsen says they believe Manito travels throughout the country.
Police say the 19-year-old male student had sex twice in the bathroom, but were interrupted the second time by students. Visitors are now escorted through the school and the district will review its long-term security measures with the police department.
The man bypassed the school office, which is a separate house located on campus, entered the school and met the student in a bathroom, where they engaged in a sexual act, authorities have said.
