Ikea Beach Chairs Recalled For Amputation & Fall Hazards

Now Ikea is warning that the chair can collapse and possibly result in hand injuries.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall on Friday. But what Hollywood never considered is that there's another much more terrifying force trying to take our life force, and it's an IKEA beach chair.

Three of the incidents were reported in the United States, including one of the fingertip amputations.

The beach chairs with the product name MYSINGÖ are foldable, wooden base chairs with an attached fabric seat.

The full list of article numbers, located on the wooden frame and sewn into the fabric can be found here. IKEA says the chair sold for approximately $25 each.

Anyone who bought one of these chairs before February 2017 should return it for a full refund.

The US recall comes days after the company said it received five incident reports in Finland, Germany, USA, Denmark and Australia in which the beach chair collapsed during use "due to incorrect re-assembly".
