Former Wonder Girls' Sunye Speaks Out On Disbandment

With "Nobody", Wonder Girls rose to No. 76 on Billboard's single chart, but failed to make further gains.

Although the news of their break up came just weeks before their 10th anniversary, Wonder Girls remains one of the few Korean girl groups to mark a decade together, and will be remembered as one of K-pop's most influential acts.

According to JYP, Yubin and Hyerim will be re-signing with the company while Yeeun and Sunmi have chose to leave.

"Thank you to all the fans all around the world for being with us, JYP and Wonder Girls, for 10 years".

JYP said in its latest statement that the group will release its last digital single Thank You For Being So Wonderful on Feb 10 - the date of its 10th anniversary. "Remember us... We are Wonder Girls".

The 27-year-old former Wonder Girls leader and main vocalist took to social media to express her support and gratitude to the loyal fans that stayed along with the popular girl band's journey that spanned a decade. Yeeun also thanked the fans with a similar message. "Always, with thanks, I will treasure all of our moments together".

South Korean girl group Wonder Girls reportedly disbanded on January 26 due to contract expiration.

Hyerim hoped that their songs would give comfort and strength to their fans and assured they would do their best to become a pillar of strength for their fans. Yubin and Hyelim have renewed their contracts with JYP Entertainment and will continue their activities in music and acting as well as other fields.

Later that year, Wonder Girls went on hiatus and returned in 2015 with their revamped "80s pop-rock Reboot album, and their final lineup: Yeeun, Sunmi, Hyelim, and Yubin". She moved to Cube Entertainment a year later and debuted with another girl group 4Minute until her successful solo venture that started in 2010. Past year saw disbandment of Kara, and 4minute a few months later.
