Crystal Palace have appointed Sammy Lee as assistant manager, bringing him together with Sam Allardyce for a third time.
He has also worked in the backroom staff at Liverpool and Southampton, whom he left this summer.
Allardyce was delighted to welcome Lee back to his management set-up and told the club's official website: 'I am looking forward to once again working with Sammy.
Liverpool-born Lee has spent two spells coaching at worldwide level with the England setup.
"It was great working with him at Bolton and he is someone who has a wealth of experience both at club and worldwide level over the years as well".
Sky sources understand Lee has been present at training on Tuesday morning ahead of Palace's Premier League trip to West Ham on Saturday.
'There's plenty of talent and plenty of quality within the squad, we just need to get them going again, ' he said.
"I'm fairly hands on".
