A young woman and mother of two died last week after she was streaming herself talking to friends on Facebook Live and holding her 1-year-old son. Initially, the video seemed relatively normal with the new year just days away, but things quickly took a disturbing turn for the worst.
Friends said that she loved to document her life on social media, but no one could have imagined her tragic end.
A mother of two died during a video chat on Facebook Live as members of her family and her friends looked on helplessly. "Never knew that was going to be the last breath she would take [would be on] on social media live", said Johnson.
Herndon's uncle says he could hear his niece struggle to breathe and her son scream in the background.
The original video was removed from Facebook. "The nurse came in and told me that my baby was gone", Morgan said. Of her 3,400 Facebook friends, it is still unclear how many social media users actually viewed the disturbing video. You see and hear her respond to viewers and even put the spotlight on her son.
Herndon's father, Richard Herndon, wishes someone watching would have acted sooner. "She's a very intelligent kid". She revealed her daughter suffered from thyroid complications.
'She had thyroid problems.
Herndon's family says she was the light of their life and a wonderful mother, but now the grieving family says rumors have started, many speculating about Herndon's death. The thyroid messes with everything and it triggered her heart.
"So early is. I don't know how to deal with it", said Richard.
An autopsy will be performed to confirm the cause of death.
"For her to leave two kids so young".
